About

One person, one studio

I'm Mick Wonnink, a software and game developer in the Netherlands. Lodestone Development is the name I build and publish under.

Most of my week goes into writing software and fixing problems on live projects. The tools I make usually start there, as something I needed on a real job, and get trimmed down until they do one thing properly.

Next to that is No Pressure, a game of my own. You and up to three friends fly one package through an asteroid belt in a ship that should have been scrapped years ago. It comes out on Steam in 2026.

Lodestone is one person. When this site says "the studio", that is me, and I would rather say so up front than write around it.

How I work

  1. 01

Small, then shipped. I would rather put a narrow tool in front of people and see what breaks than spend a year on something nobody has touched.

  2. 02

Games and tools feed each other. The games show me where the rough edges are, and the tools make the next stretch of work less repetitive.

  3. 03

Honest status. If a project is paused, the site says paused. If it's unannounced, the details are blacked out instead of padded with guesses.

The name

A lodestone is a stone that comes out of the ground already magnetic. Nobody put the pull there. Hang one from a thread and it turns to face north, every time, and for centuries sailors trusted it to find their way home.
